AES/EBU

AES / EBU, secara resmi disebut dengan AES3,merupakan sebuah kabel yang biasanya digunakan untuk membawa signal audio digital antara berbagai alat. Alat ini ditemukan oleh Audio Engineering Society (AES) dan European Broadcasting Union (EBU) dan pertama kali ditampilkan pada tahun 1989 oleh Watkinson. Standar internasional untuk AES3 berkode IEC 60958. ada 3 jenis kabel dari AES3 yaitu:

  • IEC 60958 Tipe I Balanced menggunakan 3 konduktor,110 ohm dengan konektor XLR, biasa digunakan untuk professional installations
  • IEC 60958 Tipe II Unbalanced menggunakan 2 konduktor,75 ohm kabel coaxial dengan konektor RCA, digunakan untuk consumer audio
  • IEC 60958 Tipe II Optical menggunakan fiber optik, dengan konektor F05, biasa digunakan untuk consumer audio
