Abas Melrose

Reruntuhan Keabasan Melrose

Abas dan kemudian Komendator Melrose adalah kepala komunitas monastik Keabasan Melrose, di Melrose di wilayah perbatasan Skotlandia. Para abas dari yayasan Northumbrian asal Lindisfarne pada masa sebelumnya tak meliputi pada jabatan tersebut. Keabasan kedua didirikan pada 1136 di bawah pengawasan David I (Dabíd mac Maíl Choluim), Raja Skotlandia, oleh para biarawan Sisteria dari Keabasan Rievaulx, Yorkshire. Kontrol keabasan tersebut disekulerisasi pada abad k1-6 dan setelah kenaikan tahta James Stewart, keabasan tersebut dipegang oleh para komendator.
