Acer paxii adalah spesies mapel asal Asia. Spesies ini hanya ditemukan di Tiongkok barat daya (Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan).[2]
Acer paxii adalah pohon hijau abadi dengan tinggi mencapai 15 meter, memiliki kulit kayu berwarna cokelat. Daunnya tidak majemuk, seperti kulit, dengan lebar hingga 11 cm dan panjang 6 cm, tanpa gerigi, terkadang tidak berlobus tetapi terkadang memiliki 3 lobus dangkal.[2][3]
