Ainsworths – secara resmi bernama Ainsworths (London) Ltd – adalah sebuah pedagang besar farmasi asal Britania Raya.[1] Ainsworths fokus pada "pembuatan dan penyediaan pengobatan homeopati tradisional dan penyiapan individual pengobatan bunga Bach".[2]

Sejarah

Pendiri perusahaan ini, John Ainsworth, sebelumnya merupakan direktur di Nelsons, sebuah pedagang homeopati.[3] Ia kemudian mendirikan perusahaan ini pada tahun 1974 dengan nama J.B.L. Ainsworth (Caterham) Ltd, dan apotek pertamanya dibuka di London pada tahun 1978. Pada tahun 1989, perusahaan ini telah mempekerjakan 56 orang.[3] Pada tahun 2009, perusahaan ini mengubah namanya menjadi seperti saat ini.[1]

Perusahaan ini melayani sejumlah dokter Keluarga Kerajaan Inggris sehingga diberi gelar Kontraktor Pilihan Keluarga Kerajaan Britania Raya oleh Ibu Suri, Ratu dan Pangeran Charles.[3][4]

Penerimaan

Pada tahun 2009, Ainsworths dibebaskan dari tuduhan setelah investigasi yang dilakukan oleh Royal Pharmaceutical Society terhadap penjualan pengobatan flu babi homeopati buatannya, menemukan bahwa produk tersebut tidak dijual oleh organisasi yang terdaftar bersamanya .[6]

Pada tahun 2013, investigasi yang dilakukan oleh BBC News menemukan bahwa Ainsworths berkenan menyarankan seorang reporter yang sedang menyamar sebagai seorang orang tua, untuk menggunakan pengobatan homeopatik sebagai alternatif imunisasi untuk melawan batuk rejan.[7]
