Akko (Ibrani: עַכּוֹ, Akko; bahasa Arab: عكّا, ʻAkkā; bahasa Inggris: Acre) adalah sebuah kota wilayah utara Palestina yang diduduki. Kota ini terletak di tanjung ujung utara Teluk Haifa. Menurut Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Akko berpenghuni 46.000 penduduk pada akhir tahun.[1] Dalam sejarah, Akko dikenal sebagai gerbang menuju Levant karena lokasi pantainya yang strategis.

Nama

Kota "Akko" dikenal dengan sejumlah nama lain, terutama nama bahasa Inggris "Acre". Ejaan dan nama lain kota ini meliputi Accho, Acco dan (Ortografi Bahá'í) `Akká, atau dulunya Aak, Ake, Akre, Akke, Ocina, Antiochia Ptolemais (bahasa Yunani: Αντιόχεια της Πτολεμαΐδος), Antiochenes, Ptolemais Antiochenes, Ptolemais atau Ptolemaïs, Colonia Claudii Cæsaris, dan St.-Jean d'Acre.
