Albanologi

Albanologi, atau yang juga dikenal sebagai studi Albania, adalah sebuah cabang interdisipliner kemanusiaan yang membahas bahasa, kostum, sastra, kesenian, budaya dan sejarah orang Albania. Di dalam disiplin ilmu ini, digunakan metode ilmiah untuk sastra, linguistik, arkeologi, sejarah dan budaya. Namun, bahasa Albania adalah poin utama penelitian pada ilmu ini.

Johann Erich Thunmann pada abad ke-18 barangkali merupakan albanolog pertama. Ia mendukung teori autoktoni Albania[1] dan juga mempromosikan teori asal-usul Iliria.[2][3]
