Alex Rawlings adalah seorang poliglot berdarah Inggris-Yunani[1] yang dapat menuturkan paling tidak lima belas bahasa, yaitu bahasa Inggris, Yunani, Jerman, Rusia, Afrikaans, Catalunya, Belanda, Spanyol, Prancis, Italia, Portugis, Ibrani, Hungaria, Serbia, dan Yiddish. Ia dilahirkan di kota London pada tahun 1991. Ibunya memiliki latar belakang setengah Yunani.[2] Ia berhasil memenangkan kompetisi nasional yang membuatnya mendapatkan gelar "siswa paling multibahasa di Britania Raya".[3] Ia mengambil jurusan bahasa Jerman dan Rusia di Universitas Oxford dan lulus pada tahun 2014. Ia kemudian menerbitkan sebuah buku yang berjudul "How To Speak Any Language Fluently" yang diterbitkan pada Juni 2017. Semenjak April 2017, ia juga bekerja untuk perusahaan startup yang bernama "Memrise".
