Amstrad adalah perusahaan elektronik Inggris, didirikan pada tahun 1968 oleh Alan Sugar pada usia 21 tahun. Dia memulai bisnis ketika baru berusia 16 tahun. Nama perusahaan ini merupakan kontraksi dari Alan Michael Sugar Trading. Perusahaan ini pertama kali terdaftar di London Stock Exchange pada 1980. Selama akhir 1980-an, Amstrad memiliki pangsa pasar PC yang substansial di Inggris. Amstrad pernah menjadi konstituen FTSE 100 Index tetapi sejak 2007 sepenuhnya dimiliki oleh Sky UK.
Pada 2006, bisnis utama Amstrad adalah memproduksi kotak interaktif Sky UK. Pada 2010 Sky mengintegrasikan divisi satelit Amstrad sebagai bagian dari Sky sehingga mereka dapat membuat set-top box sendiri.
