Anglikisasi

Anglifikasi linguistik (anglikisasi, atau penginggrisan) merupakan praktik memodifikasi kata, nama, dan frasa asing agar lebih mudah diucapkan, atau dipahami dalam Bahasa Inggris.[1][2] Istilah ini umumnya mengacu pada pengulangan kata-kata asing, sering kali dengan tingkat yang lebih drastis daripada yang tersirat dalam, misalnya romanisasi. Salah satu contohnya adalah kata "dandelion", yang dimodifikasi dari bahasa Prancis dent-de-lion ("gigi singa", mengacu pada daun tanaman yang bergigi tajam). Istilah ini juga dapat merujuk pada adaptasi fonologis tanpa perubahan ejaan: spaghetti, misalnya, diterima dalam bahasa Inggris dengan ejaan Italia, tetapi dianglifikasi fonetik.
