Anostomidae adalah sebuah famili ikan bersirip kipas dalam ordo Characiformes. Berkerabat dekat dengan Chilodidae dan sebelumnya dimasukkan ke dalam famili tersebut, Anostomidae mencakup sekitar 150 spesies yang telah terdeskripsikan. Mereka ditemukan di habitat air tawar dari Río Atrato di bagian paling utara Amerika Selatan hingga Argentina tengah yang beriklim hangat; mereka berasal dari Amazon, dengan sedikit yang ditemukan di sebelah barat Andes (terutama di Kolombia dan Venezuela).[2]
