Awaken the Guardian adalah album studio ketiga oleh band progressive metal Fates Warning, dirilis pada tanggal 10 November 1986 melalui "Metal Blade Records". Telah diterbitkan kembali tiga kali: pertama sebagai album ganda dengan No Exit pada tahun 1992, diikuti oleh edisi remaster tahun 1994, dan sekali lagi sebagai edisi deluxe pada tanggal 28 Juni 2005.[3] Yang terakhir termasuk disk bonus yang berisi demo dan lagu live, serta DVD konser dari rekaman pada tanggal 28 Desember 1986 di klub Sundance di Long Island.; ini menjadi satu-satunya rekaman video yang dibuat dari line-up Awaken Guardian tampil secara live. Karena ini merupakan album terakhir band dengan vokalis asli John Arch, yang kemudian digantikan oleh Ray Alder pada album berikutnya No Exit tahun 1988.
