Awan asperitas (dulunya disebut sebagai Undulatus asperatus) adalah sebuah formasi awan yang mula-mula dipopulerkan dan dicetuskan sebagai jenis awan pada 2009 oleh Gavin Pretor-Pinney dari Cloud Appreciation Society. Ditambahkan dalam International Cloud Atlas sebagai sebuah fitur suplementer pada Maret 2017, jenis awal tersebut adalah formasi awam pertama yang ditambahkan semenjak cirrus intortus pada 1951.[2]
