Ia dilatih di bawah JYP Entertainment selama tiga setengah tahun sebelum debut bersama Got7. Penampilan pra-debut pertamanya adalah dalam sebuah episode program realitas saluran Mnet, WIN: Who Is Next, yang tayang pada 6 September 2013. BamBam bersama Mark, Jackson dan Yugyeom bersaing melawan trainee YG Entertainment: Tim A dan Tim B (yang sekarang dikenal sebagai WINNER (Tim A) dan iKON (Tim B)).

Lagu debut Got7 "Girls Girls Girls" beserta video musiknya dirilis pada 14 Januari 2014.[1]
