Barytherium adalah genus dalam famili proboscidea primitif Barytheriidae yang sudah punah. Hewan ini hidup dari masa Eosen akhir hingga Oligosen awal di Afrika Utara.

Satu-satunya spesies yang telah ditemukan dalam genus ini adalah Barytherium grave, yang ditemukan pada awal abad ke-20 di Fayum, Mesir. Spesimen yang lebih lengkap telah ditemukan di Dor el Talha di Libya dan di wilayah Aidum di Oman.[1] Barytherium memiliki delapan taring yang amat pendek, empat di rahang atas dan empat di rahang bawah. Taring atas vertikal, sementara taring bawah menjulur keluar secara horizontal. Keduanya dapat digunakan untuk memotong tumbuhan.[2]
