Bathory adalah kelompok heavy metal dari Swedia, dianggap sebagai salah satu pelopor black metal dan viking metal. Namanya diambil dari Elizabeth Báthory.
Bathory didirikan di Stockholm pada 1983 oleh Quorthon. Album-album awal mereka dianggap sebagai pelopor genre black metal. Mereka disebut telah memengaruhi berbagai band seperti Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Cradle of Filth, Black Crucifixion, Beherit, dan Billy Corgan dari The Smashing Pumpkins.
Pada bulan Juni 2004, Quorthon ditemukan tewas di rumahnya, akibat gagal jantung.
