"Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" adalah lagu yang ditulis dan dinyanyikan oleh John Lennon. Lagu ini dirilis dalam album Double Fantasy pada tahun 1980, yang merupakan album terakhir John Lennon.
Paul McCartney mengatakan lagu ini merupakan salah satu karya John favoritnya.[1]
Lagu ini digunakan sebagai sisi-B "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" untuk mempromosikan album kompilasi The John Lennon Collection bulan November 1982.
Lirik
Lagu ini berisi lirik tentang kecintaan John pada putra semata wayangnya bersama Yoko, Sean. Di akhir lagu, ia membisikkan "Good night, Sean. See you in the morning. Right again" dengan cara yang sama seperti yang dilakukan Ringo Starr di akhir lagu Beatles yang berjudul "Good Night", yang merupakan lagu yang ditulis John untuk putranya yang lain, Julian Lennon.
Dalam "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)" juga terdapat kutipan terkenal Lennon yang berbunyi "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."
