Benjamin Alire Sáenz (lahir 16 Agustus 1954) adalah seorang penyair, novelis, dan penulis buku anak-anak asal Amerika. Setelah 15 tahun menikah dengan istrinya yang bekerja sebagaihakim pengadilan keluarga El Paso. Mereka mengajukan gugatan cerai pada tahun 2009, setelah Saenz melela.[1][2] Sáenz berusia 54 tahun ketika dia melela. Dalam sebuah wawancara, dia menegaskan bahwa dia telah bergumul dengan topik ini sejak lama dan dia melihat menulis sebagai cara untuk mengatasinya.[3]
