Beth Gibbons (lahir 4 Januari 1965) adalah seorang penyanyi dan penulis lagu Inggris. Ia adalah penyanyi dan penulis lirik untuk band Portishead, yang telah merilis tiga album. Ia merilis sebuah album dengan sesama musisi Inggris Rustin Man, Out of Season, pada tahun 2002, dan rekaman Symphony No. 3 karya komposer Polandia kontemporer Górecki pada tahun 2019 dengan Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. Pada tahun 2024, ia merilis album solo pertamanya tanpa kolaborasi, Lives Outgrown.[3] Album ini mendapat pujian kritis dan dinominasikan untuk Mercury Prize 2024.[4]

Kehidupan awal

Gibbons lahir di Exeter, Devon, Inggris[3][5] dan dibesarkan di sebuah peternakan bersama tiga saudara perempuannya. Orang tuanya bercerai saat ia masih kecil. Ia bersekolah di Sekolah St Katherine di Pill, Somerset.

Pada usia 22 tahun, ia pindah ke Bath. Untuk mengejar karier menyanyinya, ia kemudian pindah ke Bristol, di mana ia bertemu Geoff Barrow, calon kolaboratornya di Portishead, pada kursus Enterprise Allowance pada tahun 1991.[6]
