Prof Cargill Gilston Knott FRS, FRSE LLD (30 Juni 1856 – 26 Oktober 1922) adalahs eorang fisikawan dan matematikawan Skotlandia yang menjadi pionir dalam riset seismologi. Ia menjalani karier awal di Jepang. Ia kemudian menjadi anggota Royal Society, Sekretaris Royal Society of Edinburgh, dan Presiden Scottish Meteorological Society.
