Centrospermae

Centrospermae adalah nama botani deskriptif, yang diterbitkan pada tahun 1878 oleh Eichler, yang berarti "dengan biji di pusat", merujuk pada plasentasi bebas (sentral). Nama ini digunakan dalam sistem Engler dan sistem Wettstein untuk sebuah ordo tumbuhan berbunga.
Dalam sirkumskripsinya, Centrospermae berhubungan cukup dekat dengan ordo Caryophyllales dalam sistem sistem Cronquist. Dalam sistem APG III, dan versi-versi selanjutnya dari sistem Kubitzki, Caryophyllales didefinisikan mencakup lebih banyak hal daripada Centrospermae.
Studi filogenetik molekuler telah menunjukkan bahwa Centrospermae bersifat monofiletik. Hal ini setara dengan klad yang dikenal sebagai Caryophyllales inti, kapanpun klad tersebut didefinisikan untuk mengecualikan familia Rhabdodendraceae, Simmondsiaceae, Physenaceae, dan Asteropeiaceae.[1]
