Charles dari Valois

Charles dari Valois, lahir di Vincennes pada 12 Maret 1270^[1]^[2] dan meninggal di Perray^[3] sekarang Le Perray-en-Yvelines pada 16 Desember 1325, merupakan salah satu putra raja Philippe III dan Isabel dari Aragon. Charles dari Valois mengumpulkan kepangeranan. Ia menjadi comte Valois, Alençon dan Perche. Pada 1290 ia menjadi comte Anjou dan Maine, melalui pernikahannya dengan Margherita, putri sulung Carlo II dari Napoli, raja Sisilia; melalui pernikahan kedua, perjanjian dengan pewaris Baudouin dari Courtenay, kaisar Latin terakhir di Konstantinopel, ia juga memiliki hak atas takhta ini.

Cucu laki-laki Santo Louis, Charles dari Valois adalah putra, saudara, ipar dan menantu raja atau ratu (Prancis, Navarra, Inggris dan Napoli), sekaligus, setelah kematiannya, ayahanda raja Philippe VI dari Prancis, yang menghasilkan garis keturunan Valois.
