Chlamydoselachus adalah satu dari dua genus hiu dalam keluarga Chlamydoselachidae, ordo Hexanchiformes. Genus ini berisi dua spesies hiu yang masih ada dan beberapa yang telah punah. Spesies paling terkenal yang masih ada yakni hiu berjumbai (Chlamydoselachus anguineus) dan Chlamydoselachus africana (hiu berjumbai Afrika selatan) yang hanya ditemukan di sepanjang wilayah pesisir Afrika Selatan. Dua spesies yang masih ada tersebut adalah ikan laut dalam yang biasanya melemah di daerah yang lebih dekat ke permukaan.

Meski kedua spesies yang masih ada memiliki penampilan luar yang sama, mereka berbeda secara internal.[2]
