Colonel Sun (1968), oleh Robert Markham, merupakan novel James Bond pertama yang diterbitkan sejak wafatnya Ian Fleming di 1964. Penerbit Glidrose memilih untuk menggunakan nama "Robert Markham", untuk novelis Inggris, Kingsley Amis. Glidrose juga memberikan izin bagi penulis lain untuk menggunakan nama yang sama bila mereka berminat menulis novel James Bond pada era tersebut.
Jalan cerita novel ini mengetengahkan tentang sebuah organisasi komunis di Eropa tengah. Dengan jalan cerita yang kemudian dilanjutkan ke sabotase angkatan bersenjata di Timur Tengah.
