Cree (Cree: Nēhiyaw; bahasa Prancis: Cri) adalah salah satu kelompok penduduk asli terbesar di Amerika Utara yang berbicara bahasa algonquian,[1] dengan lebih dari 200.000 anggota suku di Kanada. Sebagian besar anggota suku Cree di Kanada hidup di sisi utara dan barat Danau Superior di Ontario serta di Provinsi Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, dan Northwest Territories. Sekitar 38.000 orang tinggal di Quebec.[2] Sebagian besar kelompok Cree dahulu hidup sebagai pemburu-pengumpul.[3]

Di Amerika Serikat, suku yang menuturkan bahasa Cree ini sebelumnya hidup di wilayah barat Danau Superior, tetapi saat ini mereka tinggal di Montana di wilayah reservasi bersama dengan suku Ojibwe (Chippewa).[4]

Migrasi suku Cree ke arah barat dalam sejarah sangat terkait dengan peran mereka sebagai pedagang dan pemburu dalam jaringan perdagangan bulu Amerika Utara.[5]
