Dacrycarpus expansus adalah spesies konifer dalam keluarga Podocarpaceae. Tumbuhan ini merupakan pohon endemik di Pulau Nugini, yang tersebar asli di Central Highlands di bagian barat Papua Nugini, dengan populasi terpencil di bagian barat di Papua Barat (Indonesia), serta populasi terpencil di bagian timur di Pegunungan Owen Stanley di Semenanjung Papuan. Tumbuhan ini tumbuh di hutan pegunungan atas dan hutan pegunungan tinggi pada ketinggian 2.000 hingga 3.500 meter, sering kali di tepi padang rumput tussock dan umumnya di tanah yang tergenang air, berawa, dan asam. Tumbuhan ini dapat tumbuh dalam tegakan yang hampir murni atau bercampur dengan Papuacedrus papuana dan paku pohon (Cyathea spp.).[1]

Spesies ini pertama kali dideskripsikan oleh David John de Laubenfels pada tahun 1969.[2]
