Dataran lava (disebut juga lapisan lava atau lapangan lava) adalah aliran lava datar yang membentang luas. Bentang alam ini terdiri dari lava basal encer pada umumnya. Dataran lava dapat membentang luas hingga puluhan kilometer, bahkan ratusan kilometer. Cakupan wilayah ini dapat terlihat jelas dari udara atau dari foto satelit, yaitu dataran berwarna gelap (hampir hitam) yang kontras dengan bentang alam di sekitarnya.
