Demon
Dalam agama, mitologi, okultisme, dan cerita rakyat, demon (dari bahasa Yunani δαίμων, daimôn)[1] adalah makhluk supernatural yang bukan merupakan manusia dan biasanya digambarkan jahat. Dalam agama-agama Timur Dekat Kuno dan agama Abrahamaik, termasuk demonologi Kristen abad kuno dan pertengahan, demon dianggap sebagai roh kotor yang bisa menyebabkan kesurupan, yang harus ditangani dengan eksorsisme. Dalam okultisme Barat dan sihir Renaisans, yang merupakan pencampuran sihir Yunani-Romawi, demonologi Yahudi, dan tradisi Kristen,[2] demon adalah entitas spiritual yang dapat dipanggil dan dikendalikan. Banyak demon dalam sastra awalnya merupakan malaikat yang jatuh.
