Dinein adalah protein motor di dalam sel yang mengubah energi kimia yang terkandung di dalam ATP menjadi energi mekanis gerakan. Dinein mengangkut berbagai muatan sel melalui mikrotubulus sitoskeleton menuju ujung negatif mikrotubulus, yang biasanya mengarah ke inti sel, berkebalikan dengan arah gerakan kinesin. Dinein dapat dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu dinein sitoplasma dan dinein aksonema. Molekul dinein merupakan kompleks protein yang tersusun dari subunit polipeptida.
