Dioscorea althaeoides adalah tumbuhan merambat herba dalam genus Dioscorea yang merupakan tumbuhan asli provinsi Guizhou, Sichuan, dan Xizang bagian timur di Tiongkok, serta wilayah Yunnan di Thailand.[1] Sebuah saponin spirostanol terasetilasi yang sebelumnya tidak diketahui, dioscin-6′-O-asetat, telah ditemukan di dalam rizoma tanaman ini.[2]
