Dominion
Dominion atau Domini adalah negara semi-independen di bawah Mahkota Britania, yang diperintah Kekaisaran Britania, yang bermula dengan Konferensi Kanada pada 1867.[1][2] Mereka meliputi Kanada, Australia, Selandia Baru, Newfoundland, Afrika Selatan, dan Negara Bebas Irlandia, dan kemudian dari akhir 1940an juga meliputi India, Pakistan, dan Ceylon (sekarang Sri Lanka). Deklarasi Balfour 1926 mengakui Dominion sebagai "Komunitas otonom dalam Kekaisaran Britania", dan Statuta Westminster 1931 memberikan mereka kemerdekaan legislatif penuh.
Penggunaan awal dominion merujuk kepada wilayah kekuasaan yang bermula pada abad ke-16 dan digunakan untuk menyebut Wales dari 1535 sampai 1801 dan New England antara 1686 dan 1689.
