Karier

Orang tua Moore adalah Mary Moore dan Melvin Hendrex Senior. Ayahnya tampil dengan nama Melvin Henderson sebagai seorang anggota dari Five Blind Boys of Mississippi. Farish Street Records

Moore mendirikan perusahaan rekaman, Farish Street Records pada tahun 2002. Perusahaan rekaman ini dinamai untuk menghormati Farish Street, tempat langsung dan juke musik Blues berkembang di lingkungan tempat Dorothy dibesarkan.
