Fanfare
Fanfare (disebut juga fanfarade atau flourish) adalah komposisi musik pendek yang umumnya dimainkan dengan trompet, French horn, atau instrumen musik tiup logam lainnya yang sering kali diiringi dengan perkusi.[1] Fanfare umumnya bernada semangat dan gembira.[2] Fanfare adalah sebuah "pengantar improvisasi cepat dalam sebuah pertunjukan musik".[3] Fanfare juga dapat didefinisikan sebagai "sebuah pengumuman musikal yang dimainkan pada instrumen musik tiup logam sebelum kedatangan orang penting", salah satunya yaitu menandakan kedatangan penguasa monarki.[4] Secara historis, fanfare biasanya dimainkan oleh pemain trompet, dimana trompet yang dimainkan tersebut diasosiasikan dengan keluarga kerajaan.[4] Tersebut pula selompret.[5] Not melodi sebuah fanfare sering berdasar di sekitar triad utama, yang sering menggunakan "ritme bernada [h]eroik".[4]
