Film masala

Film masala dari sinema India adalah percampuran genre dalam satu karya. Biasanya, film-film tersebut secara bebas memadukan aksi, komedi, percintaan, dan drama atau melodrama.[1] Karya-karya tersebut juga menampilkan musikal yang meliputi lagu-lagu yang difilmkan di berbagai tempat. Genre tersebut mengambil nama dari masala, sebuah perpaduan rempah-rempah dalam masakan India.[2] Menurut The Hindu, masala adalah genre paling populer dari sinema India.[3] Film-film masala bermula dari film-film Bollywood (Hindi) tahun 1970an, dan sangat umum di Bollywood dan perfilman India Selatan.
