Fosfoprotein

Fosfoprotein adalah protein yang telah termodifikasi pasca-translasi dengan penambahan baik sebuah grup fosfat tunggal, atau sebuah molekul kompleks seperti 5'-phospho-DNA, melalui sebuah grup fosfat. Asam amino letak terjadinya hal ini umumnya ialah residu serin, treonin atau tirosin (sebagian besar dalam eukariot), atau resitu asam aspartat atau histidin (sebagian besar di prokariot).[1]
Fungsi biologis
Fosforilasi protein adalah mekanisme regulasi penting dalam sel.[2][3]
Signifikansi klinis
Fosfoprotein telah diusulkan sebagai penanda biologis (biomarker) untuk kanker payudara.[4][5]
