Franc Rwanda[2] (sign: FRw,[3] atau RF[4] atau R₣;[5] ISO 4217: RWF) adalah mata uang Rwanda. Mata uang ini terbagi menjadi 100 centime.[2]

Sejarah

Franc menjadi mata uang Rwanda semenjak tahun 1916, ketika Belgium menduduki Rwanda yang sebelumnya merupakan jajahan Jerman, sehingga Franc Kongo Belgia menggantikan Rupie Afrika Timur Jerman. Rwanda menggunakan mata uang Kongo Belgia hingga tahun 1960, ketika franc Rwanda dan Burundi diperkenalkan. Rwanda mulai menerbitkan francnya sendiri pada tahun 1964.

Terdapat rencana untuk memperkenalkan shilling Afrika Timur di lima negara anggota Komunitas Afrika Timur pada akhir tahun 2012.[6]
