General Dynamics F-16XL adalah turunan dari F-16 Fighting Falcon, dengan sayap delta berbentuk panah. Pesawat itu masuk dalam kompetisi United States Air Force's (USAF) Enhanced Tactical Fighter (ETF) tetapi kalah dari F-15E Strike Eagle . Beberapa tahun setelah prototipe disimpan, mereka diserahkan ke NASA untuk penelitian.
