Giovanni Virginio Schiaparelli (14 Maret 1835 – 4 Juli 1910) adalah seorang astronom dan sejarawan ilmu pengetahuan Italia. Ia belajar di Universitas Turin dan Observatorium Berlin. Tahun 1859-1860 ia bekerja di Observatorium Pulkovo dan kemudian bekerja selama 40 tahun di Observatorium Brera. Ia juga seorang senator Kerajaan Italia, anggota Accademia dei Lincei, Accademia delle Scienze di Torino dan Regio Istituto Lombardo, dan dikenal karena penelitiannya tentang Mars. Keponakannya, Elsa Schiaparelli, menjadi seorang couturiere terkenal.
