Greigit adalah sebuah mineral sulfida besi dengan rumus kimia Fe2+Fe3+2S4. Mineral ini adalah ekuivalen belerang dari magnetit oksida besi (Fe3O4). Mineral ini pertama kali dideskripsikan pada 1964 bedasarkan sebuah temuan di County San Bernandino, California, dan dinamai bedasarkan mineralog dan kimiawan fisika Joseph W. Greig (1895–1977).[5]

Di Mars

Dalam sebuah publikasi ilmiah dari 10 September 2025 yang terbit di Nature, terlapor sebuah kemungkinan deteksi vivianit dan greigit di Kawah Jezero di Mars oleh penjelajah Perseverance. Pengamatan tersebut dianggap sebagai kemungkinan tanda biologis bakteri pengoksidasi besi.
