Greyfriars Bobby adalah seekor anjing berjenis Skye Terrier. Ia dimiliki oleh seorang polisi di Edinburgh yang bernama John Gray. Setelah Gray meninggal pada tahun 1858, ia dikubur di Greyfriars Kirkyard. Bobby tetap berada di dekat kuburan Gray, hingga ia sendiri meninggal pada 14 Januari 1872.[1]

Pada tahun 1873, Angela Burdett-Coutts mendirikan pemancar air minum di Edinburgh untuk mengenang Greyfriars Bobby.[1] Patung perunggu Bobby di atas pemancar air tersebut dibuat oleh William Brodie. Pemancar dan patung tersebut terletak di dekat George IV Bridge di Edinburgh. Namun, pada tahun 1957, airnya dimatikan karena masalah kesehatan.[2]

Eleanor Atkinson menulis buku tentang Bobby pada tahun 1912. Film yang dibuat berdasarkan buku itu dirilis pada tahun 1961.[3]
