Henry Adams Thompson (23 Maret 1837 – 8 Juli 1920) adalah seorang pelarangan dan profesor Amerika yang merupakan calon wakil presiden dari Partai Larangan pada tahun 1880.
Kehidupan awal dan karier pendidikan
Henry Thompson lahir di Stormstown, Pennsylvania pada tanggal 23 Maret 1837, putra dari John Thompson dan Lydia Blake Thompson.[1] John Thompson adalah manajer pabrik besi di Center County, dan kemudian memiliki bisnis perdagangan umum di Stormstown.[2] Lydia Blake adalah seorang Quaker dari Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, yang dicabut hak warisnya ketika menikah dengan Thompson, seorang Presbyterian.[2] John Thompson aktif secara politik dan menjalani dua masa jabatan sebagai sheriff county.[3] Dia aktif dalam gerakan anti-perbudakan dan pelarangan minuman keras, di mana putranya Henry mengikutinya.[4]
