Hermann Struck, 1944

Hermann Struck (6 Maret 1876 – 11 Januari 1944) adalah seorang seniman Yahudi Jerman yang dikenal karena lukisannya.[1]

Biografi

Hermann Struck, 1916

Hermann Struck (Chaim Aaron ben David) lahir di Berlin. Ia belajar di Akademi Seni Rupa Berlin. Pada tahun 1904, ia bergabung dengan gerakan seni modern yang dikenal sebagai Pemisahan Berlin.[1] Pada tahun 1900, Struck bertemu Jozef Israls, seorang seniman Belanda, yang menjadi mentornya. Keduanya diakui sebagai seniman terkemuka pada masanya.[2]

Pada tahun 1908, Struck menerbitkan "Die Kunst des Radierens" ("Seni Etsa"), yang menjadi karya mani tentang subjek tersebut.[2] Itu adalah buku teks yang menawarkan teori dan instruksi praktis.[3] Murid Struck termasuk Marc Chagall, Lovis Corinth, Jacob Steinhardt, Lesser Ury dan Max Liebermann.[2]
