Heteroptera adalah sebuah kelompok taksonomis yang mencakup sekitar 40,000 spesies serangga pada ordo Hemiptera. Mereka terkadang dikenal sebagai "serangga sejati",[1] meski nama tersebut lebih umum ditujukan kepada keseluruhan anggota Hemiptera. "Serangga tipikal" dapat menjadi alternatif yang lebih jelas, karena anggota serangga hemiptera adalah jenis serangga yang paling konsisten umum disebut "serangga" di antara Hemiptera. "Heteroptera" adalah kata Yunani untuk "sayap berbeda": kebanyakan spesies memiliki sayap depan dengan bagian yang bermembran dan sebagiannya lagi mengeras (disebut hemelitra); anggota subkelompok Enicocephalomorpha yang primitif memiliki sayap yang seluruhnya bermembran.
