Hipotesis eosit (bahasa Inggris: eocyte hypothesis) adalah klasifikasi biologi yang menunjukkan eukariota berkembang dari Crenarchaeota prokariotik (sebelumnya dikenal sebagai eosit), sebuah filum dalam arkea. Hipotesis ini awalnya diusulkan oleh James A. Lake dan rekan pada 1984 didasarkan pada penemuan bahwa bentuk ribosom di Crenarchaeota dan eukariota lebih mirip satu sama lain daripada baik bakteri atau kerajaan besar kedua dari arkea, Euryarchaeota.[2][3]
