Etmopteridae adalah salah satu keluarga hiu dalam ordo Squaliformes, yang biasa dikenal dengan hiu lentera. Nama mereka berasal dari adanya fotofor penghasil cahaya di tubuhnya. Anggota keluarga ini berukuran kecil, panjangnya kurang dari 90 cm, dan ditemukan di perairan dalam di seluruh dunia.[1] Ke-45 spesiesnya ditempatkan dalam lima genus. Tiga perempat spesiesnya termasuk dalam genus Etmopterus.
