Hoplophoneus (Yunani: "pembunuh" (phonos), "senjata" (hoplo)[1]) adalah genus yang telah punah dari famili Nimravidae, yang hidup di Amerika Utara dan Asia selama Eosen Akhir hingga Oligosen Awal dari 35,7 hingga 30,5 juta tahun lalu, dan hidup selama kurang lebih 5,2 juta tahun.

Meski bukan kucing sejati, penampilan luarnya mirip kucing, meski tubuhnya kuat dan kakinya lebih pendek.
