Hot Wheels Unleased adalah permainan video bergenre permainan balap-membalap dari seri mainan hot wheels yang dikembangkan dan diterbitkan oleh Milestone. Permainan video ini dirilis pada 2021 untuk platform Xbox Series X dan Series S, Xbox one, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch dan Microsoft Windows.

Permainan dan pengembangan

Permainan video ini dimainkan dari sudut pandang orang ketiga, dan setiap pemain dapat menyesuaikan kendaraan yang akan mereka kemudikan dengan 66 pilihan mobil di trek mini yang diatur di berbagai lokasi. Permainan video ini dapat dimainkan hingga 12 pembalap atau secara multi pemain melalui layar terpisah dengan enam latar lintasan yang tersedia, seperti garasi, gedung pencakar langit, sekolah atau universitas, taman papan luncur, ruang lintasan, dan ruang bawah tanah.[1] Selain itu permainan video ini juga dilengkapi dengan mode karier dan uji waktu.[2][3]

Hot Wheels Unleashed dikembangkan oleh pengembang asal Italia, Milestone, yang sebelumnya pernah mengerjakan proyek untuk permainan video MotoGP dan Ride berseri. Menurut desainer utamanya, Federico Cardini, tim pengembang berusaha mereplikasi mobil-mobil hot wheels kedalam skala 1:1 secara akurat dalam permainan video ini dengan menambahkan banyak detail secara halus.[4]

Penilaian dan pemasaran

Hot Wheels Unleashed secara resmi diumumkan pada 25 Februari 2021,[18] dan baru dirilis enam bulan kemudian pada 30 September 2021 untuk platform Xbox series X dan Series S, Xbox one, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch serta Microsoft Windows.[19]

Menurut grafik penjualan di Inggris, Hot Wheels Unleashed menjadi judul terlaris keempat setelah FIFA 22, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, dan Sonic Colors: Ultimate.[20]
