Hyperia macrocephala adalah spesies zooplankton amphipoda di dalam famili Hyperiidae.[2] Nama macrochepala berasal dari bahasa Latin yang berarti "kepala besar". Spesies ini ditemukan di Samudra Antartik[1] dan mungkin menjadi spesies Hyperia yang paling berlimpah di perairan ini.[3] Spesies ini merupakan zooplankton herbivora, memakan fitoplankton dengan diversitas rendah.[4] Spesies ini merupakan diet makanan dari penguin Pygoscelis.[3]
