Hyundai Genesis (bahasa Korea: 현대 제네시스) adalah mobil mewah full-size yang pertama kali diluncurkan di New York International Auto Show 2007.[1] Hyundai has introduced the vehicle worldwide, known internally as the BH model, and markets the Genesis as a "premium sports sedan".[2] Saat ini Genesis tidak dijual di Eropa. Versi coupe yang berbasis dari platform BH diluncurkan pada ajang New York International Auto Show 2008.
Chairman dan CEO Hyundai Chung Mong-koo menyatakan bahwa Hyundai Genesis adalah usaha Hyundai untuk masuk dalam arena yang dikuasai merek-merek mewah Eropa.[3] Wakil Ketua Hyundai, Kim Dong-jin, mengindikasikan bahwa nomenklatur Genesis menandakan penawaran kendaraan mewah perdana dari pabrikan tersebut.[3] Sedan Genesis didesain untuk berkompetisi melawan BMW Seri 5, Mercedes E-Class, Infiniti M, dan Lexus GS.[4] Hyundai menargetkan penjualan 55.000 unit Genesis tahun 2008 (35.000 unit di Korea dan 20.000 unit di pasar lainnya), dan 45.000 unit tahun 2009.[3] Hyundai juga menargetkan penjualan 50.000 unit mobil ini di Amerika Serikat dengan rincian 20.000 sedan dan 30.000 coupe.[5] Tapi akhirnya, mereka hanya berhasil menjual 22.000 unit Genesis tahun 2009 dan di bawah 30.000 unit tahun 2010.[6]
