Indometasin adalah salah satu obat yang digolongankan sebagai obat antiinflamasi nonsteroid yang umum digunakan dalam pengobatan demam, nyeri, kaku, dan pembengkakan akibat inflamasi. Indometasin bekerja dengan menghambat produksi prostaglandin, molekul persinyalan endogen sebagai penyebab nyeri melalui penghambatan enzim siklooksigenase.[1] Indometasin dipatenkan pada tahun 1961 dan penggunaan medisnya diizinkan pada 1963. Hingga saat ini, indometasin memiliki beberapa nama dagang di dunia [2][3][4]
