Ipini adalah sebuah suku kumbang kulit kayu. Kelompok ini bersifat monofiletik.[1] Kumbang dari suku ini mengkhususkan diri pada tumbuhan runjung.[2] Banyak spesies, seperti kumbang pengukir enam duri (Ips sexdentatus) dan kumbang kulit kayu cemara eropa (Ips typographus), membuat lorong pada kayu untuk telur dan larvanya.[3]

Hampir semua kumbang dalam suku ini memiliki sistem perkawinan poligin dengan harem betina. Pengecualiannya adalah Ips latidens yang bersifat monogami.
